I am developing a database system that enables several users to connect to a database on a server via ASP. The database system also enables users to run some stored procedures.

One function in which is required is that the user can dump a portion of the database into his or her own laptop, and work offline with the running system, when outstation. Is this possible?

When I turn my computer on it goes to a white screen. The only way I can get my computer to start at all is if I start it in safe mode. I have done the system restore. It won’t go back far enough and doesn’t fix the problem. So I want to know how to erase EVERYTHING after a certain date. How can I do this. For example if I wanted to start it over from Oct of 08?

My Laptop pretty much died after a evil Trojan horse uploaded itself onto my hard drive. I can’t seem to get in the computer the usual way and attempt to reboot the system from a back up point. What I wouldn’t mind doing is wiping it clean of everything and getting a running system and start all over again.

The problem is…….I am lost on how to do so.
Any suggestions?

I want to get a computer in my room, but my parents want to make sure that they can see what I am doing. Is there a program that could record everything I do on the computer that wouldn’t be very expensive? I need to be able to connect to the internet, so I couldn’t just block access to programs, and I need to use thumb drives, so I can’t just take the USB port out. Title says it all, I’m trying to make a message system coded in PHP, I currently have the system working for a single user to receive a message but I would like a user selection box to select multiple users, and send messages to them.
And by message system I really just mean the box that’ll pull up the users database and use a multiple selection box to select users in the said database.

Can anyone tell me what a computer operating system does (such as Windows Vista) when it shuts down? Sometimes my computer freezes during shut down and I have to physically power down. What potential harm could this do?
