The computer has to be able to create and edit home movies (this is a separate entity from the digital movie camera). All together they should be lower than $2000. The digital movie camera is kinda optional for you to answer to. Thanks so much in advance.

Im not sure this will be the answer your looking for, but anyway. All you need is a computer any kind running at least windows xp. Then you can just go to a computer shop like best buy or somewhere else. so instead of paying 1200 dollars just go buy the program for less than 200 dollars. Okay that’s not an exact total but you get my point. But if you do want a computer, not just the program then you can still go to best buy just ask one of the sells reps and they tell you exactly what you want. Oh and for the camera just do the same. Get any camera that has a firewire port so that you can record the video directly onto your computer. I have a sony handycam that takes mini dv tapes and it works great. Just make sure the computer you get has a firewire port (although you can get one for the PCMIA slot for less than $30)
